South African Airways selects GCE Aviation Portable Oxygen Systems for Fleet Wide Retro-Fit

Warrington, UK - GCE has entered into an agreement with South African Airways to supply the Integra lightweight Portable Oxygen Cylinder Assembly(POCA) for fleet wide retro-fit.

The Integra will retro-fit the existing steel portable cylinders across the South African Airways fleet, yielding a fleet weight saving of over 1,130 Kg (2,486 Lbs) resulting in lower fuel burn and through life costs.

Other key factors that influenced the retro-fit included; cost savings gained through lower unscheduled maintenance requirements and the far improved features of the product which benefit ease of use by cabin crew in an emergency.

South African Airways will become an authorized service centre for the GCE Integra and will be in a position to carry out service and repair of the product as a support centre for the region.
