TUNGSTEN ELECTRODES
TUNGSTEN PURE – GREEN (WP)
Used mostly for AC welding of aluminium and magnesium and other less critical, low-current applications. It forms and maintains a clean, balled tip when heated and provides good arc stability with a reasonably good resistance to contamination. Typically not used for DC welding.

TUNGSTEN + THORIUM 2% - RED (WTh20)
Excellent for DC welding (both negative or positive polarity) on carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel and titanium. The most preferred electrode today for its long lifetime and ease of use. The Thorium improves arc ignition and allows for a higher current-carrying capacity. This electrode operates far below its melting temperature, which results in a significantly lower consumption and a greater arc stability. During welding, the Thorium is uniformly dispersed throughout the electrode, which helps the tungsten to maintain its sharpened edge. The Thoriated electrodes deposit less tungsten into the weld puddle than other types, reducing the weld contamination. Rarely used for special AC welding (very thin aluminium or materials less than 1,5 mm).

TUNGSTEN + CERIUM 2% - GREY (WCe20)
This electrode performs best in DC welding at low current settings and works well also in AC processes. It has a good ignition and very good re-ignition at low amperages, good arc stability and long life. Very popular in such applications as orbital tube and pipe fabrication, thin sheet metal work, and jobs involving small and delicate parts. Best used to weld carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium, it is a great alternative to thoriated electrode. The use at higher amperages is not recommended because the cerium oxides migrate away, thereby negating their benefits.

TUNGSTEN + LANTHANUM 1,5% - GOLD (WLa15)
This electrode combines the characteristics of ceriated electrode and thoriated electrode. Like ceriated electrode, it has an excellent arc ignition and an excellent re-ignition, and enable to maintain the arc easily at lower voltages with a good stability. It has an excellent current conductivity, very similar to thoriated electrode and can replace it without welding setting changes worth nothing. It works well on AC or DC electrode negative with a pointed end, or on AC sine wave power sources with a balled end. It maintains easily a sharpened pointed end well, with a benefit for welding steel and stainless steel on DC or AC from square wave power sources.

TUNGSTEN + LANTHANUM 2% - BLUE (WLa20)
This is an all-purpose tungsten electrode that combines the best features of all the other electrodes. Excellent arc ignition and re-ignition, very good arc stability, excellent current conductivity, the best in maintaining the sharpened end, the longest lifetime. Suitable for the use both on AC or DC. Excellent performance both in low and high amperage applications. It works great for welding carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, aluminium, magnesium, titanium, cobalt, copper alloys, and all other metals. Perfect to replace, with a longer lifetime, thoriated electrodes in automated systems welding stainless steel on DC. Even during this intensive use, it maintains better the tip geometry.
