FORMING GAS

APPLICATION:  

Weld root shielding for TIG (GTAW) welding process. The back side of the weld – root, needs to be protected against negative influence of surrounding atmosphere. It is important to form proper shape of the root and to make metalurgically quality weld.  The accuracy of the gas supply is sensitive parameter of the process to keep quality welds and to control the gas consumption. Usually mixture based on nitrogen with addition of hydrogen are applied. The flow can be slightly higher than flow of the welding shielding gas, depending on the weld type and construction design.
